Update Monday July 6, 2020
There are still days available to ‘adopt’ via donating that amount (or more).
Original Post: You might know that I’ve been a coach for Girls on the Run Sierras since the fall of 2009. I served one term on the Board of Directors (2012-2013) and am back on the Board because I believe that the program has such a positive impact on the girls we serve.
Our calendar campaign this July is to help sponsor girls who want to participate but can’t afford the registration fee. We never turn a family away and thus … need to fundraise!
After the first 5 hours of fundraising, I have 7 days already filled in! These fine folks chose a day and donated that amount of money (i.e. $25 on the 25th) or more. 🙂
If you would like to help sponsor a girl, please venmo me or send a check made out to Girls on the Run Sierras. You can text or email me to tell me which day you’d like!
The official text:
July is Sponsor a Girl month for Girls on the Run. My goal is to fill the month of July with names of my family and friends who are able to choose a day in July that you would like to call yours (ie: July 3rd = $3.00 sponsorship) and help sponsor a girl. Next, you will fill out the below with your information and venmo or mail a check for the dollar amount of the date you chose!
Your participation in our Sponsor a Girl campaign will help raise scholarship money for girls who require financial assistance. No girl is ever turned away from Girls on the Run due to her family’s inability to pay the registration fee. Beyond providing financial assistance, Girls on the Run also provides healthy snacks and water bottles to each girl. Proper running shoes are also given to girls when needed. Above all, Girls on the Run provides girls with skills such as confidence, compassion and connection which makes Girls on the Run a superstar program!
