In the spirit of continual gratitudes and in an effort to do my part post-election, we practiced Turn and Talk as a strategy for cooperative conversation and understanding.

We are talking about what’s happened in our read aloud so far.

And practicing listening to our partner.

Listening with quiet hands, closed lips, eyes on the speaker and our hearts toward the speaker.

Later in the day one of our fabulous moms read us Grace for President, perhaps my new favorite book.

And just for some levity, this one says, “Look Ms. Sara, this book makes a really good fan.” The fact that it is a Spanish English dictionary made me giggle.
